3. Transfer Recommendations

Recommendation: HOLD — Roll the Free Transfer

Transfers were just made this window (João Pedro and Bruno G. brought in). With GW30 being a full fixture week and the Free Hit planned for GW31, there is no urgent need for further changes. Rolling the FT gives you 2 FTs heading into GW32, which is critical for restructuring ahead of the run-in.

GW32 trade plan (with 2 FTs — see Trades Report):
Trade 1: Thiago (£7.2m) → Welbeck (BHA, £6.1m, form 6.3) — saves £1.1m to bank.
Trade 2 (GW33): Scott (£5.1m) → Wilson (FUL, £6.0m, form 6.7, 140 TP, 9G 8A) — funded by Trade 1 savings.

If You Must Transfer (Emergency Only)

If Bruno G. is confirmed injured long-term or O'Reilly is ruled out:

OUT
Justin (LEE)
DEF · Form 2.0 · 49 TP · £3.9m
IN
Budget DEF (non-blanking)
Target: £3.9–4.5m range, team that plays GW31 & GW33

Only make this move if forced by injury. The –4 hit is not worthwhile otherwise with Free Hit next week.

4. Chip Strategy

Free Hit → GW31 (Confidence: HIGH)

BGW31 blanks Arsenal, Man City, Crystal Palace, and Wolves. You have 3 starting players affected (Gabriel, J.Timber, Haaland) plus O'Reilly on the bench. Without Free Hit, the XI drops to 8 starters with Mukiele (form 0.3) forced in — that's a guaranteed disaster.

FH GW31 squad core: Your 11 non-blanking players (Petrović, Justin, Scott, Anderson, B.Fernandes, Enzo, Thiago, João Pedro, Kelleher, Bruno G., Mukiele) provide a base. The FH replaces the 4 blankers with the best one-week options from Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, and Fulham.

After GW31, the full squad reverts — Gabriel, J.Timber, Haaland, and O'Reilly return for GW32+.

Bench Boost → DGW TBC (Confidence: MEDIUM — WAIT)

DGW33 (ARS, MCI, AVL, CRY doubling) is widely expected but not yet confirmed in the fixture schedule. The verified API shows singles only for GW33 as of 14 Mar.

If DGW33 is confirmed: Gabriel, J.Timber, Haaland, and O'Reilly all play twice. Use GW32's 2 FTs to upgrade the bench, then activate BB. The preparation trades (Thiago→Welbeck, Scott→Wilson) work regardless of DGW timing.

If DGW lands later (GW34+): Same strategy, just shift the BB. The 2 FT window in GW32 is still the right time to trade Thiago and Scott out, since both are underperforming.

BB preparation targets (GW32 trades):

OUTIN (Target)Why

5. Captaincy Pick — GW30

RankPlayerFixtureFDRFormSeason TPRationale
C João Pedro NEW (H) 3 9.3 160 Highest form in the squad (9.3). 14G 5A this season, 6 goals in last 6 GWs. Home to Newcastle. Explosive ceiling.
VC B.Fernandes AVL (H) 3 7.7 166 Form 7.7 — best mid-season form in the squad after JP. On all set pieces. Home fixture, highest total points in the squad (166). Strong VC safety net.
3rd Haaland WHU (A) 2 2.7 195 Best fixture on paper (FDR2) but form is dire at 2.7. City's creative struggles are limiting his output. Still has hat-trick potential vs soft defence but trust is low.

Differential pick (TSB <15%): Anderson (NFO) vs FUL(H) FDR2. Form 6.0, scored 12pts (1G, 3BP) in GW29. Forest are strong at home and Fulham concede freely. Low ownership makes him a genuine rank-breaker if he hauls.

6. Optimal XI & Bench Order

Recommended formation: 3-4-3 (current setup). One change suggested: start O'Reilly over Justin if O'Reilly is confirmed fit — O'Reilly has form 7.7 and WHU(A) FDR2, compared to Justin's form 2.0 and CRY(A) FDR3.

Bench order logic: Bruno G. stays 1st sub despite form 0.0 — if he was merely rested (not injured) in GW29, he auto-subs in if any starter misses out. His 134 TP and Newcastle calibre mean he's still the best non-starting option by talent. Justin at 2nd — he at least played 73 mins last week. Mukiele last — form 0.3, emergency-only.

Key change: O'Reilly promoted to starting XI (replaces Justin) — contingent on fitness confirmation before deadline. If O'Reilly is unavailable, Justin plays and bench shifts up.

7. Risk Flags

Bruno G. (NEW) — Form 0.0, 0 minutes in GW29
Verified form is 0.0 (not 5.5 as previously estimated). This means he has returned zero points across recent gameweeks, not just one missed GW. He may be injured, out of favour, or carrying a knock. Check Eddie Howe's Friday press conference before locking the team. If he's long-term injured, this transfer was a costly miss and you should consider selling in GW32.
O'Reilly (MCI) — Form 7.7, 0 minutes in GW29
Verified form of 7.7 is still elite (not 9.0 as estimated). The 0 mins in GW29 is concerning but doesn't necessarily mean injury — Guardiola rotates heavily. If fit, he must start over Justin (form 7.7 vs 2.0, FDR2 vs FDR3). O'Reilly blanks GW31. Monitor Guardiola's presser.
Haaland (MCI) — Form 2.7, worst form of the season
Verified form is 2.7 (even worse than 3.2 estimated). City's creative struggles are real. However, WHU away (FDR2) is his best chance to break the slump, and he has the highest season total (195 TP). Hold but captain João Pedro instead.
DGW33 — Not yet confirmed
All previous analysis assumed ARS, MCI, AVL, CRY double in GW33. The verified fixture API shows no doubles scheduled. This affects Bench Boost timing (was GW33, now TBC) and the urgency of getting DGW doublers on the bench. The preparation trades (Thiago→Welbeck, Scott→Wilson) remain correct regardless — both are value upgrades that work in single GWs too.
Mukiele (SUN) — form 0.3, barely playing
Even worse than 0.8 estimated. Useless as bench cover. Not a GW30 problem (4th sub), but a Bench Boost liability. Must be upgraded when DGW is confirmed.
Justin (LEE) — form 2.0, CRY(A)
Worst player in the squad (49 TP, form 2.0). Only playing if O'Reilly is unavailable. Sell priority in GW32 window — covered by the Trades plan (Mukiele→DGW DEF swap later).
B.Fernandes — form 7.7 (higher than reported)
Verified form of 7.7 is significantly better than the 6.2 previously used. Now the second-best form in the squad after João Pedro (9.3). Firmly a HOLD and strong VC option. Home to AVL is a good fixture.
GW31 Free Hit planning reminder
Popular non-blanking assets will rise in price over the coming week as managers prepare for BGW31. Start planning your FH squad now. Target Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Forest, Brentford, and Fulham players.

Bottom Line

Before GW30 Deadline (Sat 14 Mar)

Captain João Pedro (form 9.3, 6 goals in 6 GWs, home to Newcastle). Start O'Reilly over Justin if fit (form 7.7 + FDR2 vs form 2.0 + FDR3). Roll the FT — no transfers needed this week.

3-GW Chip Roadmap

GW31: Play Free Hit to dodge ARS/MCI blank.
GW32: Use 2 FTs — Thiago→Welbeck (save £1.1m).
DGW TBC: Scott→Wilson + Bench Boost when doubles confirmed.
